Communities. Communities are the places where we feel secure. Communities are places where we can find ourselves comfortable. When it comes to the tech field, there are more than a tons of problems a programmer can encounter daily. It would be great to be a part of a community where you feel comfortable, secure and free to ask all of your queries and problems.

There are many amazing folks out there who are happy to help. But the process of joining a tech community feels like a hectic task. It is not. It boils down to 5 simple steps to become a part of any community according to your domain.

1. Choose your domain and a community according to that domain.

I am very interested in the data science domain. I always wanted to have a bunch of people to whom I can look up and get my problems solved.

These are some communities you can connect to if you are a data science professional.

  1. Kaggle

  2. DrivenData

  3. Data Science Society

  4. Dataquest

  5. Open Data Science

  6. Data Science Central

  7. Data Community DC

  8. IBM Data Community

I have chosen Kaggle as my community of interest.

2.Get Involved in the community.

In kaggle, various competitions are being held. Many data science professionals across the world can contribute and participate in those events. These competitions give us to improve can view others' code.

Reading code is more important than writing code. This helps us to improve a lot more by providing us with the optimal solution.

3.Following them on socials.

Every one of us spends most of our time on social media apps. When these social media apps can bring improvement to your career, why stop them?

4.Contribute to Opensource.

Contributing to Open Source can bring close to many high-positioned professionals close to you. There is no better way to network in a tech environment.

You can "star" the repository to get frequent changes and updates on that particular repository.

5.Be Active and general rules.

Half of the work is already done if you just show up.

Other rules:

  • Help Others

  • Follow Code of conduct

  • Be Humble

  • Don't be rude.

At last, make as much connections as possible.
